Energy Ministers of Uzbekistan, Russia discuss cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov and Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov discussed cooperation in energy sector on June 3 on the sidelines of St Peterburg International Economic Forum. The progress of current and prospective projects was considerd during the meeting.
"Gazprom and its subsidiaries, Lukoil have successul cooperation in development of oil and gas fields in Uzbekistan for many years. Transboundary supplies of energy resources are growing," Nikolai Shulginov said.
Besides, Russian companies cooperate actively running several projects in electricity sector, including construction of hydropower plants in Uzbekistan, the Russian Energy Minister said.
"Russia is one of the most reliable partners of Uzbekistan in energy sector. Partnership in training of specialists is a particular part of cooperation. Prospective specialists of fuel and energy complex of Uzbekistan study now in branches of 3 Russian universities opened in Tashkent. I am convinced we will have more joint projects in future," Alisher Sultanov said.
