AKIPRESS.COM - Protest act in support of Kyrgyz national detained in Russia by Tajikistan's request was held outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 27 with 7 people in attendance.
"Our fellow citizen Esen Majitov was arrested upon arrival in Russia at the request of Tajikistan. They accuse him of mass riots taking place in August 2020, when there were clashes on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. Now the neighboring country is demanding the extradition of Esen to Tajikistan," said civil activist Meerbek Mukhtar.
The protesters asked that the Kyrgyz and Tajik ambassadors to Russia and the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry to step in.
Four protesters entered the office to convey their demands.
