Personal data of Uzbekistanis to be stored domestically

AKIPRESS.COM - Since April 2021, owners of websites are required to keep personal data of citizens of Uzbekistan inside the country according to the amendments introduced into the law on personal data.
According to the amendments, personal data of citizens of Uzbekistan should be processed on technical equipment physically present on the territory of Uzbekistan and registered in the state register.
Localization requirement will apply to processing of data with use of information technologies, including via Internet.
The owner or operator of database is responsible for storage of data. The amendments will become effective since mid-April 2021.
The law on personal data was adopted in January 2019 and entered into force since 1 October 2019.
