Some 6.5 billion soms required for 100% increase of pay for medical workers in 2021 - Deputy PM

AKIPRESS.COM - The Kyrgyz government was asked today in Parliament to consider possibility of pay increase for medical workers.
"It is necessary to consider pay increase. It is unfair when surgeon is paid 5,000 soms," MP Ainuru Altybaeva said in Parliament today.
"We are working on 100% increase of salaries for medical workers. This would require 6.5 billion soms in 2021," Deputy Prime Minister Elvira Surabaldieva said.
The Deputy Prime Minister has not elaborated on sources of funding.
