Bishkek mayor's office cancels tender for purchase of 100 buses, plans to ousource some of bus routes

AKIPRESS.COM - Bishkek lacks municipal transport, acting mayor of Bishkek Balbak Tulobaev told the press briefing today.
"The municipality does not have money to buy buses. The coronavirus pandemic and October 6 events affected this issue. We cancelled tender for purchase of 100 buses for 381 million soms," he said.
The mayor's office plans to announce a competition for some of municipal transport routes, he said. "For instance, 30 buses are need to run on the route from Osh bazaar to Asanbai micro-district. We will outsource the routes to those who will be able to bring buses," he explained.
