AKIPRESS.COM - The Supreme Court cancelled on Nov 30 the sentences of two court instances on the case of illegal release of crime boss Aziz Batukayev from prison.
The case was sent to the Pervomay district court of Bishkek for a new hearing.
Former president Almazbek Atambayev is the main defendant in this case. He was previously sentenced to 11.2 years in prison for corruption.
Former prosecutor general Indira Joldubayeva was found guilty of abuse of office and fined 5 million soms.
Doctor Abdukhalim Raimjanov was found guilty of concealment of crime. He was not punished due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
Former advisor to the chairman of the state penitentiary service Kalybek Kachkinaliyev was found guilty of complicity in corruption and was sentenced to 2 years in prison. Due to the expiration of his sentence, he was released in the courtroom.
