Omurbek Tekebayevs reinstates his parliamentary mandate

AKIPRESS.COM - The Central Election Commission today terminated the parliamentary mandate of Sadyk Sher-Niyaz (Ata Meken faction).
The mandate was terminated on the basis of the submitted letter of resignation to the Central Election Commission.
The mandate was passed to Omurbek Tekebayev, who was stripped of mandate in November 2017 after he was found guilty of corruption and sentenced to 8 years in prison.
On 21 August 2019, the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan canceled all court rulings and forwarded Tekebayev's case to the first instance court for reconsideration in connection with new arisen circumstances. Tekebayev was released from prison and placed under house arrest on August 29.
