Owner of calf with anthrax in Kara-Suu district fined

AKIPRESS.COM - The owner of the calf in Kara-Suu district of Osh region, source of anthrax, was fined, the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety reported. The man was fined 5,500 soms for violation of veterinary rules.
The carcass of the died calf was divided into 4 parts. Meat was distributed among villagers without veterinary permit. 288 people divided the meat and consumed it.
8 were taken to the hospital with suspected anthrax. One patient tested positive for anthrax (cutaneous form).
The village of Toguz Bulak was locked down.
The epizootic situation is reported as stable.
