AKIPRESS.COM - The office of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya announced that they are ready for prolonged protests and demanded peaceful handover of power, RIA Novosti reported.
The politician herself has not decided to participate in street protests yet.
The office of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya earlier refused to recognize results of presidential elections and decided they were going to appeal against the results.
Central Election Commission of Belarus earlier reported that current president Alexander Lukashenko preliminarily gained 80.23% of votes, with voter turnout of 84.23%. Svetlana Tikhanovskaya gained 9.9% of votes, Anna Konopatskaya 1.68%, Andrei Dmitriev 1.04%, Sergei Cherechen 1.13%.
