AKIPRESS.COM - Thirteen families live in remote Kara-Unkur village, Naryn district, Naryn region of Kyrgyzstan.
This village is 65 km away from the district center. It lies on the Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart road.
Men from the village work in the road maintenance administration, women are housewives.
They live in the houses built there in 1934-1935 for road maintenance workers.
The village is surrounded by mountains from two sides. The sun rises at 11.30 a.m. and sets at 3.30 p.m. in winter time. The air temperature falls 40-45 degees centigrade below zero in winter and reaches 22-26 degrees in summer.
Kara-Unkur village does not have mobile communication, electricity and cable TV chanels.
After micro-hydropower station broke, villagers are using solar panels.
"We do not know the latest news. We buy newspaper when go to the distric center. We live like in the 19th century," villagers say.
Around 25 children have to walk to school in Ottuk village.
