MPs approve $60 million agreement with International Development Association for economic development of Osh

AKIPRESS.COM - Parliament committee on international affairs and defense approved agreement between Kyrgyzstan and the International Development Association signed on 12 May 2020 in Bishkek. Deputy Economy Minister Avtandil Alybayev presented the draft agreement.
The project aims to develop the economy in the city of Osh and Osh region.
The International Development Association will extend $60 million to Kyrgyzstan, including $30 million in loans and $30 million in grants. The loan will be extended under 0.75% interest rate, Alybayev said.
Those funds are earmarked for agriculture and tourism development in Osh region and Osh city, he said.
