Parliament approves bill toughening responsibility for using synthetic fishing nets

AKIPRESS.COM - Members of the parliamentary committee on agrarian policy, water resourses, ecology and regional development on December 16 reviewed the draft law on amendments to the law on some legal acts in the third reading.
The amendments were initiated by Zhyrgalbek Turuskulov and Baktybek Turusbekov, the Parliament reported.
According to Turusbekov, the bill is aimed at increasing the responsibility of citizens violating the environmental law.
The code of offences is supplemented by a new article banning import, production, sale and realization of synthetic fishing nets, electro-powered systems with sanctions in the form of fine of two categories.
Causing a major damage in the code of offences will be punished by 1st category fine and deprivation of rights to engage in these activties.
According to Turusbekov, the amendments were necessary due to the increase of poaching cases in aquatic biological resources with the use of synthetic fishing nets and electro-powered systems.
The committee approved the draft law in the third reading.
