Over 28% of children live below poverty line in 2018: Statistics

AKIPRESS.COM - Over 28% of children under 17-years-old live below the poverty line in Kyrgyzstan in 2018, according to the report of the National Statistical Committee on living conditions in 2014-2018 released in November 2019. The data was based on the results of the sampled integrated surveys of households.
The child poverty rate in the rural areas reached 28.8% in 2018, which is by 1.6% higher than in urban areas.
