Electric trains may appear in Almaty

AKIPRESS.COM - Mayor of Almaty Bakytzhan Sagintayev at the meeting on social and economic development of the city addressed the internal migration and a transport issues, Sputnik Kazakhstan said.
According to him, a major flow of migrants comes from the cities of Talgar and Kaskelen of Almaty region. In this regard, the administration of the city plans to launch electric trains for residents of these cities. However, a railroad should be build for these purposes.
The mayor asked the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to order the government to resolve this issue in cooperation with the mayor's office of Almaty.
"A gradual implementation of this important social project should be started," Sagintayev said.
