"Kazakhstan should remain as state with presidential system" - Tokayev

AKIPRESS.COM - "I am convinced that Kazakhstan should remain as a state with presidential system, but the parliament should occupy a rightful place in a political system," President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during the session of the National Council of Public Trust, Akorda reported. According to him, the issue is not only modernization of the election legislation, but also the fact that the parliament as part of current legislation should play a more effective role in resolution of the important state decisions.
"We have to relaunch the state social policy. The national economy should work for real increase of welfare of all our citizens. It's time to give impetus to a political competitiveness, expand a real participation of citizens in a political life of the country, contribute to development of pluralism. The government must listen to its citizens and the most important is to hear them," Tokayev noted.
