This year marks 30 years since adoption of UN Convention on Rights of Child: President

AKIPRESS.COM - "This year in November, it will be 30 years since the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. I congratulate all the participants of this forum, it is a very important event," said President Sooronbai Jeenbekov at the national forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child on June 25. According to him, 30 years ago it was decided to adopt a convention on the rights of the child, children always need special care from parents and the state.
"25 years have past since Kyrgyzstan joined the convention. Our ancestors had never allowed child abuse. Kyrgyzstan has pretty good indicators on the protection of the child rights," the president added.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child is a human rights treaty which sets out the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children. It was signed on 20 November 1989.
