All fires eliminated in Arys except for military unit

AKIPRESS.COM - All fires in the city of Arys, except for military unit, were eliminated by June 25 morning, assistant to governor of Turkestan region Saken Kalkamanov wrote on Facebook.
"Taking my hat off to firefighters risking their lives. They spent the whole day in Arys extinguishing fires, dismantling debris, evacuating residents. They spent the night in a safe area. By morning, all fires in the city were eliminated, except for the military unit. Real heroes. About 400 firefighters were involved in elimination of an emergency in total," the post reads.
Some 165 people were affected by explosion. 89 of them were hospitalized, 76 released home for out-patient treatment. Death toll after blasts reached 2 people. Residents were evacuated to safe places, officials say.
A huge fire was reported at 9:20 am on June 24. According to governor of the region Umirzak Shukeyev, a state of emergency was declared in Arys city.
