Bishkek, Apr. 11, 2019 / Kabar /. The maternal mortality rate has been decreased in Kyrgyzstan by almost 40%, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to the final results of the "Mother and Child Protection" direction under the Den Sooluk program, the infant mortality rate decreased by 36.5%, while in 2012 the indicator was 20.2 per 1,000 live births (2012), then in 2018, this figure is 14.8.
The maternal mortality rate in 2018 is 30.4 per 100 thousand live births against 50.3 in 2012 - a decrease of 39.5%.
The number of births in 2018 was 160 thousand 781, an increase of 9% compared with 2012 — 147 thousand 522, and an increase in the number of women of reproductive age by 5.6%.
The percentage of pregnant women registered before 12 weeks in 2018 was 80.5% compared with 2012, where the proportion was 75.1%.
If in the structure of maternal mortality in 2012, bleeding prevailed - 29.5%, then in 2018 the mortality from bleeding decreased to 13.5%.
