Safe City project: Road fatalities rate reduces by 36.8 percent

According to the results of the implementation of the first phase of Safe City project, the road fatalities rate in Chui region reduced by 36.8 percent. The Deputy Head of the State Committee for Information Technology and Communications Kubanych Shatemirov told today at a press conference.
According to him, 42,800 violations have been registered since the beginning of the project. At the same time, statistics clearly demonstrates an improvement of the situation on the roads.
Thus, the number of traffic accidents decreased by 37.5 percent, the number of injuries - by 44.4 percent.
"In general, a decrease in the number of traffic accidents by 14.6 percent was registered in Bishkek and Chui region. These figures say that the main goal of the project has been achieved as of today," Kubanych Shatemirov stressed.
