AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan is on the 88th place in the world with its tally of registered coronavirus cases (among 222 countries and territories), National Viral Infections Control Center Chief Zuridin Nurmatov said. "Kyrgyzstan is on the 113th place in morbidity rate per 100,000. This figure is higher in rich countries. This speaks that the problem is not with funding. Our country is also on the 107th place in mortality rate and on 118th place on fatalities rate," Zuridin Nurmatov stated.
Nurmatov noted improvements in COVID-19 cases detection system.
"More COVID-19 cases were registered in July 2021 than last year. This proves the system of registration of cases works better, since last year the country had problems with hospital beds and not all cases were registered," he said.
