MP can't wait local firms to start building roads in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - MP Ekmat Baibakpaev asked during a plenary session of the parliament when Kyrgyz companies will start building roads in the country. "You said that local companies are unable to provide 10% of the construction value as a guarantee, but can the state act as a guarantor?" he asked.
He believes that the Ministry of Economy and Finance, when negotiating with donors, could support domestic companies by saying that the Guarantee Fund is the guarantor in their case.
"When such a joy will come to our country? Our companies are building these roads anyway," he said.
Deputy Minister of Transport Nurlanbek Kayynbayev replied that work is being done to divide the work into lots, and then domestic companies will be able to participate in the tender.
