Health workers detained in Nur-Sultan, Akmola, Almaty for forging vaccination passports

AKIPRESS.COM - Health workers were detained in Nur-Sultan, Akmola and Almaty regions of Kazakhstan for forging vaccination passports, said Chairman of the Agency for Counteraction to Corruption Marat Akhmetzhanov. 104 corruption cases in the medicine sphere were revealed in Kazakhstan in H1.
"Just yesterday, medical workers engaged in selling vaccination passports were detained in three regions of our country. They issued documents to unvaccinated people and destroyed vaccines. As you can see, these are the cases when people are trying to get illegal money risking health of the population. While money from the budget is getting wasted. People who received such passports are among us, and that means a threat to public health and safety," he said.
New vaccination passports in Kazakhstan have QR codes, scanning of which enables checking the legality of the passport on the e-government site.
He noted that cases of abuse and embezzlement in procurement of medical equipment continue to occur.
