Afghan government forces flee to Tajikistan after clashes with Taliban

AKIPRESS.COM - The armed group of Taliban fighters attacked Sherkhon-Bandar border checkpoint in Afghanistan's Kunduz province on the border with Tajikistan on June 21.
The clashes lasted until 9:00 AM of June 22, the Border Troops of the State National Security Committee of Tajikistan said.
134 servicemen of Afghan government forces had to cross the border into Tajikistan. Four of them were wounded, one was killed.
Tajik border guards allowed the Afghan government servicemen to enter Tajikistan.
The situation on the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan is tense. The total number of wounded, killed and captivated servicemen of Afghan government forces at Sherhon-Bandar checkpoint neared 100.
The government forces and Taliban clash for the last 10 days in 4 provinces bordering with Tajikistan. Taliban captured several districts in Tahor and Kunduz Province and Sherhon-Bandar and Kokul border crossing checkpoints.
