Significantly mutated coronavirus may reach Kyrgyzstan in autumn, Health Minister says

AKIPRESS.COM - Significantly mutated COVID-19 strain may reach Kyrgyzstan in autumn, Minister of Health and Social Development Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said in Parliament on June 3.
He said hospital beds and health professionals are being prepared for possible deterioration of COVID-19 situation.
"5 variants of coronavirus infection circulate in Kyrgyzstan now, they do not cause severe complications. A significantly mutated strain of COVID-19 may come to Kyrgyzstan in autumn. Our doctors and scholars are following the situation with this disease, they are holding conferences," Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said.
The third coronavirus wave is ongoing in Kyrgyzstan now.
