AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev virtually attended the Second International Summit "Partnership for Green Growth and Global Goals 2030" (2021 P4G Seoul Summit) at the invitiation of President Moon Jae-in on May 30.
The agenda of the two-day forum includes issues of addressing climate change, green recovery and ensuring carbon neutrality, as well as the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the implementation of the provisions of the Paris Climate Agreement.
The event is attended by the heads of state and government, high-level representatives of the leading countries of the world, representatives of international organizations.
Among them is UN Secretary-General António Guterres, European Council President Charles Michel, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang, U.S. President's Special Envoy for Climate John Kerry, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, Chair of the Global Green Growth Institute Ban Ki-moon and OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría.
The President of Uzbekistan outlined the key directions of the reforms carried out in the country and shared his vision of the prospects for international cooperation in green recovery.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that it is necessary to consolidate efforts of international community to make effective decisions on green and sustainable development.
