Islamic Development Bank hands over 8 pickups to Kyrgyz Health Ministry

AKIPRESS.COM - The ceremony of handover of 8 UAZ Patriot pickups purchased under the Islamic Development Bank's project on emergency support for COVID-19 response was held on the square outside the Government House on May 19 in Bishkek.
Cabinet Vice Chair Jyldyz Bakasheva, Minister of Health and Social Development Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, heads of healthcare organizations attended the ceremony.
The vehicles will be handed over further to district sanitary and epidemiological departments in Nookat, Issyk-Kul, Ala-Buk, Sokuluk, Issyk-Ata, Ak-Syi, Jumgal, Bazar-Korgon districts.
Construction of 10 modular virology laboratories under the Islamic Development Bank-funded project is planned across Kyrgyzstan, Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said.
"The vehicles were handed over to ensure timely transportation of pathogeinc biological material. Purchase of 15 vehicles was planned. Eight of these vehicles were handed over today. Seven sanitary vehicles were handed over in December 2020," the Health Minister said.
The ceremony was marred after a woman appeared on the stage during speech of Cabinet Vice Chair Jyldyz Bakashova.
