Uzbekistan plans to obtain Sinovac coronavirus vaccine

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan plans to obtain Sinovac coronavirus vaccine in China, Nurmat Otabekov, member of the coordination office for coronavirus response, told a press conference.
According to the World Health Organization, Sinovac vaccine produced by China's Sinopharm can be brought to the country through COVAX program, Nurmat Otabekov said.
The official said 1 million doses of Sputnik V were ordered. 100,000 doses were delivered. This will be enough for vaccination of 50,000 people. The remaining doses will be offered to people from risk groups upon arrival of the vaccine.
Vaccination against coronavirus infection started on April 1 in Uzbekistan.
The country is using Uzbek-Chinese ZF-UZ-VAC2001, AstraZeneca and Sputnik V vaccines.
