Kyrgyz-Tajik border tension escalates, Kyrgyz Border Service says

AKIPRESS.COM - Tension escalated in border areas of Batken region, namely Kocho-Boyu area of Batken district, since 4.40 a.m. of April 29, the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan said.

The Tajik side further began firing shots from hunting rifles into passing cars of Kyrgyz citizens. Several citizens of Kyrgyzstan were wounded reportedly.

The situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border remains tensed.
The Kyrgyz Border Service said it failed to reach the leadership of the Border Service of Tajikistan by phone.
