Preparations for start of remediation of uranium tailing in Min-Kush near completion

AKIPRESS.COM - The preparations for start of construction for remediation of uranium tailings near completion in Min-Kush village, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Several international projects are carried out now at the sites of uranium production now in Kyrgyzstan.
The CIS interstate program on remediation of the territory of the countries affected by uranium production started in 2013. It will last until 2023.
The contractor finished reclamation on the uranium tailing site in Kaji-Sai in November 2019.
Construction of temporary facilities and the road necessary for reclamation of another tailing site in Min-Kush near completion.
The project is carried out under the agreement between the government and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on Environmental Remediation Account for Central Asia in the Kyrgyz Republic.
