Turkmenistan becomes first foreign buyer of Serbia's armored military vehicles

AKIPRESS.COM - Turkmenistan has become the first foreign buyer of Lazar 3 armored military vehicles produced in Serbia, Ambassdor of Serbia to Russia and Turkmenistan Miroslav Lazanski said.
The exact number of purchased vehicles was not named, The Chronicles of Turkmenistan reported.
"Hopefully, this number will grow," Ambassador Lazanski said.
LAZAR is an 8×8 multi-role military vehicle family produced by the Serbian defence industry company Yugoimport SDPR. The number of the crew depends on the type of a mission and the weapons used in the vehicle. When the vehicle is equipped with the remote control weapon station, the vehicle should be manned with 12 crew members (commander, driver, gunner + 9 soldiers), while the version with a turret would be manned with one soldier less.
Turkmenistan currently uses Soviet or Russian made armored vehicles BTR-80.
