Criminal probe against politician Omurbek Babanov closed. He will pay 100m soms to state

AKIPRESS.COM - Criminal probe against politician Omurbek Babanov was terminated, the National Security Committee reported on March 24.
The move is explained by "absence of facts of inflicting damage to the interests of the state, legal entities and citizens" by the actions of Babanov and his relatives.
Babanov is ex-PM and runner-up in 2017 presidential election.
Babanov agreed with the National Security Committee on voluntary transfer of 100 million soms to the state budget as a support.
Previously Babanov has been several times summoned for interrogation with the National Security Committee. The former prime minister refused to tell what cases he was summoned for citing the secrecy of the investigation.
