Emergency Minister to construction firms: "What have you turned Bishkek into?"

AKIPRESS.COM - Construction companies have a strong material interest while constructing, said Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Azhikeyev during the meeting of Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov with construction companies. "I want to ask builders and architects: What have you turned our city into? There's smog, there are no sidewalks, you've cut the trees out and planted short ones instead, it's ugly. The city has no ventilation. We already started questioning how dangerous our city is for us and our children," he said.
Constructions must stop for violations even if there are licenses issued, he believes.
He called for switching to a single architectural style instead of chaotic building with doubtful construction materials.
He also pointed out that the red lines are being violated due to personal interests in order to add up squares to the object.
All participants in construction and government agencies must he held accountable, he said.
