AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan is home to more than 180,000 people with disabilities, said ombudsman Tokon Mamytov at a roundtable discussion on March 16. More than 30,000 of them are children.
Mamytov proposes to create a Coordinating Council under the Office of the Ombudsman to address the issues of people with disabilities. The Coordinating Council will demand the authorities to fulfill all obligations before persons with disabilities.
According to him, the Coordinating Council will include representatives of international organizations, human rights defenders, activists.
The council will deal with the issues of people with disabilities and raise their problems.
