AKIPRESS.COM - "USAID has not offered its services on refrigerators for Pfizer vaccine," Deputy Prime Minister Elvira Surabaldieva said on her social media page.
"The press service of the Ministry of Health will provide apologies for thoughtless statements of the Health Minister in Parliament. It turned out USAID has not offered its services on refrigerators. The Health Minister made a mistake," Elvira Surabaldieva said.
Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said in Parliament earlier that Kyrgyzstan participates in COVAX program.
"They will provide 1.2 million doses of vaccines, while USAID will provide refrigerators, syringes for 1.2 million doses for free. They will arrive in Kyrgyzstan in June. But these doses won't be enough and we are holding talks with the Russian side on vaccines as well. Acting President Talant Mamytov has asked 500,000 doses of vaccines from Russia," the Health Minister said.
