Uzbekistan to spend over $11.4 million for spiritual development

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev suggested establishment and development of think tanks in the country.
"The country has few analysts and experts, who are able to study the socio-political process in-depth and to provide clear explanations. We need to revise the applied research work in protection of society from spiritual threats," President Mirziyoyev said at the government meeting on January 19.
The role of think tanks should be performed by centers of spirituality and enlightenment, Islamic civilization centers, social research institutes, the President said.
The Spirituality and Creation Foundation will be established on the basis of the Public Foundation Ijod, which will promote national ideas, enhance effectiveness of spiritual work and enlightenment, faciliate development of literature and reading culture.
Over $11.4 million will be allocated to the Foundation. Above $8.5 million will be spent for spiritual development and educational services in the regions of the country, the president's press service said.
