100,000 doses of Pfizer coronavirus vaccine to be delivered to Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan will receive 100,000 doses of Pfizer/Biotech coronavirus vaccine through COVAX program. The work on thorough planning of vaccination is in progress, Bahodir Yusupaliev, Chief of Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-Being Service, said.
According to the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the country has necessary refrigerators supporting -70° temperature necessary for storage of vaccines.
The Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization GAVI provided 17 refrigerators and 206 cargo vans for delivery of vaccines to the regions of the country. The work on training of medical specialists is underway.
The third phase of clinical trials of coronavirus vaccine of China is ongoing in Uzbekistan.
It was reported earlier Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V was delivered to Tashkent in early December for trials necessary for registration and start of production of coronavirus vaccine in the country.
Uzbekistan joined COVAX program in August.
