All schools and universities to be closed in case of registration of new COVID-19 variant in Kyrgyzstan - Education Ministry

AKIPRESS.COM - All schools and universities will be closed in case a new variant of COVID-19 is registered in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Minister of Education and Sciene Nurlan Omurov told a press conference today.
School and university students will return back to remote learning in case a new coronavirus variant is detected in the country, he said.
Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said earlier a new COVID-19 variant will eventually reach Kyrgyzstan.
The new variant has fatality rate 2.5 times higher. It affects young people and children more, who develop more severe symptoms, the Health Minister said.
