UK coronavirus variant to reach Kyrgyzstan eventually - Health Minister

AKIPRESS.COM - A new variant of COVID-19 will reach eventually Kyrgyzstan, Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said.
"We introduced strict restrictions in January-February, but COVID-19 spread in the country anyway. A new coronavirus variant was registered in almost 41 countries. Russia recorded this variant as well and it means it will get here too," the Health Minister said.
The Health Minister said all precautionary measures are taken to trace infected persons and their contacts.
A new variant is more reported among young people and has more serious symptoms, he said.
"The previous strain was mild for young people and children. This variant is more aggressive and affects children and young people more. Fatality rate of the new variant exceeds the previous strain 2.5 times," the Health Minister said.
Treatment of a new coronavirus variant remains the same.
The fourth protocol will not be changed, since it proved effectiveness in treatment of coronavirus infection, Health Minister Beishenaliev said.
