Former vice mayor of Bishkek taken to remand prison

AKIPRESS.COM - The Pervomayskiy district court of Bishkek ruled to hold former vice mayor of Bishkek Mirlan Amanturov in the remand prison of the State National Security Committee until February 28 as part of pre-trial investigation.
Amanturov was detained by Anti-Corruption Service of the State National Security Committee on December 29. He is accused of misappropriation and embezzlement of entrusted property.
Investigation established that during 2015-2019 the companies affiliated with Mirlan Amanturov were awarded municipal contracts for over 100 million soms, a part of the sums was appropriated by the former vice mayor. The companies failed to complete the work in due time despite timely financing.
