Kyrgyzstan may launch production of Russia's coronavirus vaccine

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan may establish production of Russia's coronavirus vaccine, Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev told AKIpress on January 5.
Kyrgyzstan will send a letter to Russia with the request to provide 500,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine, he said.
"Probably, we will receive 100,000 doses of coronavirus vaccines, which will be used for vaccination of medical workers, teachers," the Health Minister said.
"If we produce this vaccine, it would be more beneficial. We discussed this possibility with Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko. We will need vaccination in order to beat coronavirus infection. The material for vaccine itself is relatively cheap," the Health Minister added.
During his year-end press conference, President Vladimir Putin said that production of Russian coronavirus vaccine is possible in foreign countries.
"Components of the vaccine are good. We still lack hardware, equipment for production of a necessary amount of vaccine doses. Respective factories, enterprises, equipment are needed for production of the vaccine. All that will be increased," Putin said.
"Production of vaccine is possible in foreign countries. They will spend their money on expansion of production and purchase of necessary equipment," he said.
