Over 800 surveillance cameras installed in prisons in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - More than 800 surveillance cameras were installed in penitentiary institutions in Kyrgyzstan, State Penitentiary Service Chairman Askat Egemberdiev said.
"The cameras allow us to monitor the situation online. The actions are taken promptly in case of violation of rules," he said.
"Besides, we hold the court processes online amidst coronavirus pandemic due to safety considerations and reasonable use of public funds," he added.
4,500 trials were held online this year, he said.
