AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan may purchase one of three vaccines developed by Indian scholars, Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan Manish Prabhat said. The Indian Council of Medical Research is working on 3 vaccines now, the Ambassador said.
The first vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech is in the third phase of clinical trials.
The second vaccine is developed by Serum Institute. The third vaccine is developed by Zydus Cadila. Both vaccines are in the second phase of trials.
Uzbekistan is holding online talks with Indian companies on possible delivery of vaccines, Pharmaceutical Development Agency Deputy Director Alisher Temirov said.
It was reported earlier the trials of China's coronavirus vaccine are in progress in Uzbekistan. 5,000 volunteers were selected for the trials and around 300 of them were vaccinated already.
Besides, 100,000 doses of Russia's Sputnik V vaccine were delivered to Tashkent earlier this month for trials necessary for registration and start of production of the vaccine in the country.
