8,337 domestic violence cases registered in Kyrgyzstan since start of 2020

AKIPRESS.COM - Some 8,337 domestic violence cases were registered since the beginning of 2020 in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Prime Minister Maksat Mamytkanov said at the meeting of the Rule of Law, Fight against Crime and Anti-Corruption Committee of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan today.
7,961 protection orders were issues this year. Some 5,077 protection orders were issued in 2019, he said.
324 criminal probes into domestic violence were launched. 71 cases reached courts, 15 cases were dismissed, 21 are still considered, the Deputy PM said.
The Committee is considering implementation of the law on protection from domestic violence.
