Presidential election campaign to start Dec 15 in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The Central Election Commission concluded registration of presidential candidates.
The election campaigning activities will start since December 15, Central Election Commission Vice Chairman Abdyjapar Bekmatov said.
"According to the constitutional law, the campaigning activities start 35 days prior to the day of vote, but since these are early elections, campaigning activities will begin 26 days prior to the day of vote," he said.
The rules and norms of holding meetings with electors for presentation of programs by candidates are stipulated in the constitutional law. Besides, presidential candidates will be provided free time on government-run TV channels - KTRK and ElTR, he said.
The Central Election Commission registered 18 presidential candidates. The snap presidential elections are set for January 10, 2021.
