Highly qualified lawyers, scholars and experts included into constitutional convention - chief of president's press service

AKIPRESS.COM - Chief of president's press service Nurgazy Anarkulov commented on the statement made by Chairman of the Council of Assembly of Peoples of Kyrgyzstan, ex-Speaker Abdygany Erkebaev, who said the constitutional convention is unprofessional.
"The constitutional convention included highly qualified lawyers having a high professional reputation," he said.
He agreed with Erkebaev, who said the constitutional convention has few constitutional lawyers. "One should note, however, Kyrgyzstan has few constitutional lawyers with doctoral degree. Two of them - Kanatbek Kerezbekov and Avtandil Arabaev - were included into the convention.
Besides, convention includes scholars, professors, representatives of civil society, NGOs, experts, MPs, ex-MPs, public figures. This was done to take into account views of general public and to develop the draft of the Constitution that would satisfy all sides, Nurgazy Anarkulov said.
