AKIPRESS.COM - The reason for the former president's leaving was corruption in the customs, according to MP Kubanychbek Jumaliev.
"He failed to cope with corruption in the customs, so he had to leave. Will the current leadership be able to fight corruption in the customs? You have only your head changed, but for progress you need to change 100% of heads in the customs," the MP said.
Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service Janybek Karashev said all the heads of the customs bodies have changed. Automation and digitalization of the customs clearance at the border is under way to get rid of the human factor, he added.
