President's press secretary denies Japarov's link to $1 million lobbying deal signed on his behalf

AKIPRESS.COM - Acting President's press secretary Galina Baiterek commented on a media report concerning $1 million lobbying dealsigned on behalf of acting President Sadyr Japarov. "According to our legislation, the state does not regulate agreements between private companies. Hence, signing of such a deal by the President is out of question. Those who signed it night have used the name of Sadyr Japarov. The acting President has nothing to do with that deal," Galina Baiterek said.
She stressed such "reports may be related with the upcoming presidential elections in the country and are aimed to vilify certain officials."
ForeignLobby.com reported acting president Sadyr Japarov allegedly already signed a $1 million lobbying contract for international help with an economic crisis. The office of President Sadyr Japarov signed the contract with former Israeli military intelligence officer Ari Ben-Menashe on Oct. 30, according to a new lobbying filing. It calls for Ben-Menashe's firm, Montreal-based Dickens & Madson Canada, to lobby governments in the United States and the Middle East for assistance to Kyrgyzstan.
