Kyrgyz government pays half of its 1.2 billion soms debt to pharmaceutical companies

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan has a stock of medicines and medical supplies for 1.5 month, Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev told a press conference on October 26.
The Minister said the meetings are held with pharmaceutical companies.
"They said they would help. The Compulsory Health Insurance Fund and the Ministry of Health owe money to pharmaceutical companies. The debt size reached 1.2 billion soms. I informed the government, Sadyr Japarov about the situation. Some 540 million soms were paid from the sum already," the Health Minister said.
The COVID-19 situation is getting worse in the country, the Minister added.
"We will hold talks with pharmaceutical companies this week, so that they will provide medicines in case of spike in viral infections," he said.
