Ex-Health Minister Cholponbaev in hospital after heart attack

AKIPRESS.COM - Experts of the National Center for Torture Prevention were not allowed to visit former Health Minister Kosmosbek Cholponbaev.
The National Center for Torture Prevention told AKIpress they received a report on deteriorated health condition of Cholponbaev. He was taken to the National Cardiology and Therapy Center with heart attack.
"The Center workers arrived in hospital, but the guards did not allow them to visit Cholponbaev. They demanded to present a permission of the remand prison chief, where the ex-Minister was held," the Center representatives said.
Former Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Kosmosbek Cholponbaev was detained on September 17 on power abuse charges.
Cholponbayev is suspected of abusing his power by signing a contract for consulting services not meeting the interests of the state, thus causing damage to the state budget of about 65 million soms.
