AKIPRESS.COM - Member of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan Sabila Mustafina said the approximate cost estimate for 2020 presented to the government is 10.8 billion tenge. The major part of these expenses will cover salaries of 70,681 members of the election commissions, which is 7.3 billion tenge, or 68% of the total cost estimate. The remaining 3.5 billion tenge, which is 32% of the cost estimate, will cover production of ballots, print and other products, providing information support to the election campaign to ensure transparency and openness of the electoral process, as well as the creation of necessary material and technical conditions for the election commissions, she said.
Expenses in the amount of 341.4 million tenge are foreseen to provide members of election commissions of all levels with individual protection means.
Expenses for 2021 are foreseen in the draft budget for 2021-2023 in the amount of 4.5 billion tenge. Almost all this amount is planned to pay for the work of members of election commissions of all levels. The entire election campaign of members of the Mazhilis of the parliament and maslikhats is 15.3 billion tenge, she said.
The Mazhilis elections on party lists were set for January 10, 2021. The Mazhilis elections chosen by the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan were set for January 11.
